Cafetería Catunambu sits right in the thick of Sevilla’s bustling Casco Antiguo, a stone’s throw from C. Sierpes, making it a natural spot to pause amidst the morning rush or a midday stroll through the old city’s narrow streets. This café thrives on offering a straightforward, genuinely local breakfast experience, with a focus on traditional Spanish staples like churros dipped in thick hot chocolate, cortados, and simple, well-executed tostadas topped with jamón serrano or creamy avocado and tortilla.

The interior is modest, with only a handful of tables—most visitors end up standing at the counter or along the bar, absorbing the lively street energy that filters in through the door. This setup encourages quick, casual visits rather than long lingering breakfasts or leisurely afternoons. It’s the kind of place you’ll find mainly locals, and a few travelers lucky enough to discover it, grabbing a quick café con leche or an espresso to jumpstart their day.

Service here is friendly and efficient, with staff who know their regulars and are happy to offer recommendations. One recurring highlight is their churros con chocolate y cortado, which pairs crispy and light fried dough with that rich, velvety chocolate dip—the kind that invites you to savor every bite. The café also serves a range of simple snacks like bocadillos and montaditos, appealing mostly to those looking for a traditional, no-fuss breakfast or midday bite.

Given its location in a lively shopping district, Catunambu works well for a quick refuel while exploring or as a local morning ritual spot to watch the city wake up. The vibe is unpretentious and practical, typical of European cafés where the focus is on good coffee and straightforward food rather than plush seating or extended visits. If you enjoy experiencing Sevilla like a local and appreciate a brisk, neighborly atmosphere fueled by quality coffee and crisp churros, this café fits the bill nicely.

We went for a cappuccino and churros. Everything was amazing. The atmosphere, the coffee, the chocolate dip. The kind waiter recommended their own specialty dessert that was a type of French toast with a cinnamon sugar topping. Everything was great! I highly recommend this place for a true local experience!

Local typical Spanish breakfast spot. The best I've visited on this trip so far. Great café con leche and cortaditos. Simple yet delicious tostada con jamón and excellent churros. Will definitely come back! One little table for two, the rest you drink and eat standing up... European style.

We ran into this Cafe on our way by accident but it was the perfect accident We had the famous churros in town, tasty and delicious The working gentleman was very kind and generous by serving us a Picatostes on the house. The Cafe is in the heart of the shopping streets and there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the atmosphere

Stopped here a couple of times while wandering around Seville, first visit was churros and hot chocolate 10 outta 10 crispy churros and thick warm hot chocolate. The next day we stopped for a drink and enjoyed a cold beer both times the staff were quick efficient and polite

Really lovely spot! The churros were perfectly crispy and warm, just the right amount of sweetness. Loved sitting by the roadside, sipping a nice coffee and watching people walk by—such a relaxing vibe.

This place is fabulous and anyone who wants a local experience with some delicious picatostes has to try it! We initially ordered the churros but the waiter recommended the picatostes and honestly I'm so incredibly grateful he made the suggestion. Crispy on the outside, fluffy and soft on the inside. Sugary cinnamon flavour on top and goes so well with the melted chocolate. Absolute heaven. Really good prices too (€5.50 for the picatostes) and the staff were lovely! Best place to come for breakfast

A great breakfast spot that opens early! Their hot chocolate and picatostes were amazing. I believe they're cash only though.
